By Anna S PV is great, but if you don't know where you are going, you can really get stuck in a touristy spot, or just plain inconvenient spot. A great hotel for luxury and beauty is Hacienda San Angel. Its fab. I would not recommend Nuevo Vallarta- its too far north from the main part of town and you'll get sick of having to take cabs, etc. The marina area is a bit too commercialized, but there are some nice hotels there. I would recommend staying in the Romantic Zone if you can. I would stay out of the downtown hotels, because they are all really run down. The Romantic Zone is the best part to go out and enjoy great meals and its an easy walk to the downtown area with the touristy bars/clubs. FYI - I'll let you in on the best kept secret. Be sure to go check out Joe Jack's Fish Shack in the Romantic Zone. The chef and owner is Joe Jack, the original chef and owner of SF's very own Luna Park and Last Supper Club. Turns out he moved down to PV and opened up a small but insanely good Mexican Cantina. Its located on Basilio Badillo across from the popular Fajita Republic. Be sure to go and check out the mezmerizing Mexjitos (he's tweaked his famous Luna Park mojitos mexican-style with tequila and it is sensational!!!) and the food is his usual top notch. SF's loss and PV's gain. I wish I could write a review on it but Yelp doesn't locate PV restaurants!!! Enjoy!!! |
